Note from CEO, Mike Cunningham
I believe retirement is more than just asset accumulation and what you plan to do as you start to enjoy your later years. Financial planning success is defined by your wealth distribution strategy and how you protect and secure your income as you approach and move into retirement.
Many years ago, as I was reviewing our own retirement plan with my money coach, I learned that everything I had been taught by banks and Wall Street was wrong. In fact, what I learned was that my retirement assets were in the wrong buckets and as such the tax consequences of retiring soon left us with much less income than what was previously planned. After a great deal more research, I was able to learn strategies to combat the common pitfalls that arise in retirement and it then became my mission to make sure that I spread the word and help others avoid these costly mistakes.
I currently hold the FINRA Series 65 license, which allows me to provide investment advisory services and my registration as an Investment Adviser Representative with Foundations makes me subject to a fiduciary duty with respect to my clients. As a certified Retirement Analyzer software analyst with advanced training in areas such as tax, stock market analysis, technical analysis, qualified plan distributions and Social Security planning, I am well positioned to assist clients in building out a successful plan for retirement.
When not working, my wife and I enjoy boating, golf and spending time with family. I also enjoy volunteering at our church, Habitat for Humanity, and the Cameron Executive Network (CEN), a mentorship program at UNCW.
